Kathleen Thompson Joins Extreme Reach Payroll Solutions as Head of Production Incentives

We are delighted to share the news that Kathleen Thompson has joined our team as Head of Production Incentives. Having spent many years in the industry, she is well known in the world of production and finance. At Extreme Reach she will lead a team that continues to work with production teams to evaluate locations for film and TV shoots and expedite the tax incentives process. Our clients will benefit from her deep expertise, solutions-oriented approach and her guidance.
What Came Before
“The entertainment industry offers an incredible variety of experiences and people that no other business can,” said Thompson. Most recently Thompson was the VP of Sales and New Business at GreenSlate, providers of payroll and accounting services. Prior to that, she then spent 11 years at EP Financial Solutions, advising high-profile clients on tax management and working with the offices of state governments to ensure that program rules were met. As a Women in Film member, Thompson is actively involved in the process of advancing equity across screen industries, and she’s long been connected to the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. 20+ years of experience in entertainment and media, combined with deep-rooted industry relationships, make Kathleen an ideal fit for the tasks of consulting and tax credit administration. Outside of work, her current passion projects include developing consistency around both her meditation practice and physical exercise, as well as amateur songwriting. “Things I love include my beautiful daughter, Emily, my husband Stephen and honoring the memory of my beloved son, Duncan” shared Thompson. Also on that list are her sweet little dogs, Buttercup and Mojo Jojo.
Under Thompson’s guidance, the Production Incentives team will continue its role of advising on locations for TV and film shoots, then helping to facilitate seamless tax incentives processes by ensuring that correct forms are filed while talent and crew get properly paid. “Production incentives are critical to the financial health of film and TV productions,” said Tim Hale, Extreme Reach’s chief talent officer. “Kathleen’s seasoned expertise and background in entertainment finance combined with her solutions-oriented, customer-focused approach, make her a tremendous asset to the team.
